Omeo Shipwreck Dive Trail, Coogee Beach Snorkelling Omeo Shipwreck Trail. Children must be supervised by parents at all times, while in the water and near the water, at their own risk. Each family must provide their own swimming gear, bathers, sun protection,  snorkelling equipment, floatation devices if required, towels, dry clothes, sunscreen, hats, shoes, water and food. Each family will need somewhere to put their valuables car keys, phone, while in the water and at their own risk. Option, BYO picnic, sup boards, kayaks, toys, sand building for afterwards.   Location and parking The Coogee Maritime Trail can be accessed from Socrates Parade in North Coogee (view Google map).

Free parking is available on Socrates Parade and nearby streets. Parking is also available on Chieftain Esplanade, and extends around the corner onto the southern peninsular. A path connects this parking area to the Omeo Shipwreck at Coogee Maritime Trail.  Accessing the trails The dive and snorkel trail starts at the Omeo shipwreck and continues 200m west, following the southern breakwater.  
The land-based trail runs parallel along the breakwater esplanade, near Socrates Parade in North Coogee.

Christmas Picnic at Matilda Bay, Crawley. All Welcome Near the 2 jetties and next to the Bayside Kitchen. All are welcome to join us for a picnic by the Maltida Bay/Swan River with a possible visit by Father Christmas (To be confirmed). The kids can play, swim, canoe/kayak or sail if they wish, while the adults relax and chat on the beach or maybe a game of frisbee. You can arrive by bike if you wish. It will be in the afternoon this year but always a pleasant way to spend the best part of a day under the shade of the peppermints. There is a cafe nearby for those wanting a coffee or ice cream. Also, please bring something approximately $5-10 (eg, lolly stockings or wrapped gift. Labelled with your child's name) for Father Christmas to give to your child. Ice Blocking/Reverse Tobogganing at Banks Reserves Mount Lawley Ice blocking is a much anticipated activity we are trialing this year. What is ice blocking, you ask? Well, it is a bit like reverse tobogganing, so instead of sliding down an icy hill on a toboggan, we will be sliding down a grass hill sitting on a giant block of ice! It is lots of laughs and fair bit of rolling down the hill! Please bring a towel to sit on and a drink bottle for refreshment. The ice blocks comes with a rope handle so your child has something to hold onto. The ice blocks will last for hours, so be prepared for the length of stay. There is an entry cost for each person to Araluen Botanic Park, pay direct to Araluen Botanic Park. Adults are from $12, Children from $10 per person. A beautiful walk around Araluen Botanic Park. Walk can be as small or large as our group decides on the day. Araluen Botanical Park is located in a sheltered valley in the Darling Ranges approximately 30 kilometres south of Perth, Western Australia, in the suburb of Roleystone. Beautifully landscaped and terraced garden areas that are a delight to explore. Stroll through the gardens and enjoy the stunning Waterfalls, babbling stream, seasonal colours, hidden lawned areas amongst many other wonderful sights on offer. BYO – Entry fee, food, drink, wet weather gear (rain coat), umbrella and good walking shoes (eg, hiking boots), water proof, if there is heavy rain. There is an onsite café. Multi-day Bibbulmum Hike from Brookton Highway Access point to Albany Highway (Sullivan Rock Car Park) - Members only. Parents only(?). Friday Afternoon to Sunday Noon. Due to the logistics involved, we are making this an adult (parent) event. Nonetheless, grown children with hiking experience are still welcome to join us. We will be going at a reasoably slow pace, and approximately 32.3km over 2 nights. Abssinia rock, Interesting flora and fauna, Mt Cuthbert, Mt Vincent. View from the hilltop.  Real hiking experience. Camping at Caning and Mondanock Shelters. Drop toilet. Water available at camp - Water ought to be either filtered or treated with chemical/boiling to be safe for drinking. There are wigglies in the water tanks at these sites. Parents (Adults) are responsible for their children at all times. Walk is graded as 'Difficult' due to uneven ground and steep sections. Brookton Highway to Canning Shelter is 8.6km. Canning to Mondanock is 16.3km. Monadnock to Sullivan Rock is 7.4km. Appropriate gear is required for this walk. Please refer 'Members' Only resource page' of the web site for more guidance. The temperature may be low and can be wind chilly. I cannot vouch for the safety of parking overnignt at either terminals of the walk. These are isolated locations on major highway and break-ins has been known to happened to hiker's vehicles.  Members may be refused participation if the safety of the group or the participant is compromised by inappropriate equipment. I have a PLB for emergency use, for the safety of the group. Interested members should familiarise themselves with The Risk Management Policy published on the WAFBC website and ensure the safety of your family at all times. We are going into remote environemnt and medical evacuation is usually hours away. Potential risks (which may lead to life-threatening event) on this walk for adults and children are, (1) Snake bite, (2) Thermal burns at fire-pit or from boiling water (3) Gastro-Intestinal upset from oro-feacal contamination, (4) Musculo-skeletal injuries, (5) Dehydration, (6) Falls, (7) Insect bites, including ticks, (8) Eye injuries from sticks or plants, (9) Getting lost in the wilderness. (10) Exacebation of any existing medical condition, (11) Falling tree and branches - crushing injury, and (12) Cuts and bruises.    Assemble Point: Brookton Highway Access point, 15mins before departure time. It may take 60mins or more to get to the access point from your Perth home. Mobile coverage is unreliable for much of the Bibbulmum Track, so we will not be waiting long if you are late to the assembly point as there is no way of determining if you are coming or not (eg 15min past hike time). We can still meet at Canning Shelter later. Telstra is not available at Brookton Highway & Canning. Available at Monadnock and Sullivan Rock, apparently.  Registration is necessary, this event may be cancelled if there is no registered participants. Registration may be cancelled if storm is anticipated. We will walk if only shower is anticipated. Hiking equipment may include the following (I can provide a equipment list if requested): Suitable attire, sturdy shoes and quick dry clothes. Warm overnight clothes. Water (Minimum 2L per person at departure). Food (Lunch, Dinner, breakfast and snacks) Hiking backpack. Warm sleeping gear  - Sleeping bag and mattress. Tent (The shelter may be busy and space may not be available). Personal Hygiene: Sanitiser and toilet paper. Basic First Aid kit. Insect repellent.  Mobile phone, powerbank, and something light for quiet moments like a book or toys or puzzles. Please keep total pack weight around 10-12kg, including water.
