Multi-day Bibbulmum Hike from Brookton Highway Access point to Albany Highway (Sullivan Rock Car Park) - Members only. Parents only(?). Saturday Afternoon to Sunday Noon. Due to the logistics involved, we are making this an adult (parent) event. Nonetheless, grown children with hiking experience are still welcome to join us. We will be going at a reasoably slow pace, and approximately 32.3km over 1 nights. Abssinia rock, Interesting flora and fauna, Mt Cuthbert, Mt Vincent. View from the hilltop.  Real hiking experience. Camping at Caning and Mondanock Shelters. Drop toilet. Water available at camp - Water ought to be either filtered or treated with chemical/boiling to be safe for drinking. There are wigglies in the water tanks at these sites. Parents (Adults) are responsible for their children at all times. Walk is graded as 'Difficult' due to uneven ground and steep sections. Brookton Highway to Canning Shelter is 8.6km. Canning to Mondanock is 16.3km. Monadnock to Sullivan Rock is 7.4km. Appropriate gear is required for this walk. Please refer 'Members' Only resource page' of the web site for more guidance. The temperature may be low and can be wind chilly. I cannot vouch for the safety of parking overnignt at either terminals of the walk. These are isolated locations on major highway and break-ins has been known to happened to hiker's vehicles.  Members may be refused participation if the safety of the group or the participant is compromised by inappropriate equipment. I have a PLB for emergency use, for the safety of the group. Interested members should familiarise themselves with The Risk Management Policy published on the WAFBC website and ensure the safety of your family at all times. We are going into remote environemnt and medical evacuation is usually hours away. Potential risks (which may lead to life-threatening event) on this walk for adults and children are, (1) Snake bite, (2) Thermal burns at fire-pit or from boiling water (3) Gastro-Intestinal upset from oro-feacal contamination, (4) Musculo-skeletal injuries, (5) Dehydration, (6) Falls, (7) Insect bites, including ticks, (8) Eye injuries from sticks or plants, (9) Getting lost in the wilderness. (10) Exacebation of any existing medical condition, (11) Falling tree and branches - crushing injury, and (12) Cuts and bruises.    Assemble Point: Brookton Highway Access point, 15mins before departure time. It may take 60mins or more to get to the access point from your Perth home. Mobile coverage is unreliable for much of the Bibbulmum Track, so we will not be waiting long if you are late to the assembly point as there is no way of determining if you are coming or not (eg 15min past hike time). We can still meet at Canning Shelter later. Telstra is not available at Brookton Highway & Canning. Available at Monadnock and Sullivan Rock, apparently.  Registration is necessary, this event may be cancelled if there is no registered participants. Registration may be cancelled if storm is anticipated. We will walk if only shower is anticipated. Hiking equipment may include the following (I can provide a equipment list if requested): Suitable attire, sturdy shoes and quick dry clothes. Warm overnight clothes. Water (Minimum 2L per person at departure). Food (Lunch, Dinner, breakfast and snacks) Hiking backpack. Warm sleeping gear  - Sleeping bag and mattress. Tent (The shelter may be busy and space may not be available). Personal Hygiene: Sanitiser and toilet paper. Basic First Aid kit. Insect repellent.  Mobile phone, powerbank, and something light for quiet moments like a book or toys or puzzles. Please keep total pack weight around 10-12kg, including water. Overnight Hike from Perth Hill Discovery Centre to Helena Campsite and return (Members only). Saturday Morning to Sunday Afternoon. Approximately 24km total over 2 days. Bibbulmun Track OVERLIGHT - Camel Farm to Hewitt's Hill Return 6.5km This is a good introduction to overnight hiking for families wishing to try a short overnight hike with little ones. We will walk toward the shelter in the afternoon and return the next morning. Non-Members are welcome ($15 per person). Approximately 3.5km each way. Parents are responsible for their children at all times. Walk is graded as 'Moderate'. There may be some steep sections.  Appropriate gear is required for this walk.  Assemble Point: Camel Farm Carpark, 15mins before departure time. Address is 361 Paulls Valley Road, Paulls Valley WA 6076 The mobile coverage is unreliable for much of the Bibbulmum Track, so we will not be waiting long if you are late to the assembly point as there is no way of determining if you are coming or not.  Registration is necessary, this event may be cancelled if there is no registered participants.    Recommended hiking equipment should include: Suitable attire, sturdy shoes and other personal protection equipment. Water (2L per person at departure). We can collect and treat water at the shelter. Food (Snacks, Dinner and breakfast). Hiking backpack to carry your belongings. Tent and sleeping gear. May Fourth Portagabra Track Walk, Mundaring (New Member Intro Walk)

Portagabra Track, Mundaring This is a perfect introductory walk for families interested in joining WAFBC.  The Portagabra Track takes walkers though some beautiful jarrah forest, winding its way past granite outcrops and majestic grass trees, with stunning views of the Helena Valley River and Mundaring Weir. The walk features beautiful wildflowers between August and November and is suitable for all skill levels. The trail begins at the red/white trailhead sign in Fred Jacoby Park and then heads underneath the historic Mundaring to Kalgoorlie pipeline and into the forest. Please note dogs are not allowed on the trail as it's in a national park. May the Fourth be with you, bring you favourite Star Wars memorabilia on the walk! Distance is 3.5 km, About 1 hour Meet at the start of the walk where you walk under the pipe, at Fred Jacoby Park, Hampel Road, Mundaring, 48 min (40.4 km) via National Highway 94. Please be punctual as we will not wait no more than 15mins. Difficulty - Moderate level of fitness and experience required. 
Bush Walk: Grade 3 - Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may have short steep hill sections a rough surface and many steps. Walks up to 20km. Members only camp. Easter weekend. Booking required asap. See below info about Nambung station. We are a 40-minute drive to the nearest towns of Cervantes and Jurien Bay, so you need to bring all your food and drink with you. The campground has a camp kitchen with BBQ, microwave, kettle, tables & chairs, a sink with hot & cold water. Showers and toilets. Powered site: $45 up to 2 adults per night.  Unpowered site: $35 up to 2 adults per night. $15 per extra adult per night.   $5 per night for children 4 – 16. Both powered & unpowered. Our farm painted desert tour leaves at 7.30 in the morning, weather permitting. The early start is preferable, to beat the heat and wind and takes approximately 2 hours. You will be taken through the farm in a buggy.  On arrival you will hop out and walk up onto sand dunes. As you walk around you will see pinnacles amongst the sand dunes, some are getting buried, and some are reappearing due to the moving sand.  This experience is exclusive to people staying at Nambung Station Stay. Early booking essential.   ARCHERY PARK Our Come ‘N’ Try facility is designed for beginner or experienced archers aged 8 and up! Everything is supplied for you! Each Come & Try session includes bow hire, instruction and a 10-target course. Sessions run for one and a half hours but if you are having too much fun you are able to reshoot the course.  Each Come ‘N’ Try session costs $25 for children (U18) and $30 for adults!
