Camping at Red Bluff Tourist Park (Members Only) Kalbarri’s Red Bluff Tourist Park is where WA’s rugged shoreline meets the stunning Indian Ocean. Surrounded by Kalbarri National Park and a moment’s walk to the Red Bluff beach, the picturesque location offers views of gorgeous sunsets, migrating whales and pods of dolphins. All camping site include a powered ensuite, but there are other accomodation style for family that prefers not to set up tents. There are options for swimming, fishing, hiking and exploring. Overnight Hike from Perth Hill Discovery Centre to Helena Campsite and return (Members only). Saturday Morning to Sunday Afternoon. Approximately 24km total over 2 days. Amazing vista from the Helena Shelter and Amazing Sunrise. Real hiking experience. Drop toilet. Water available at camp - Water needs to be either filtered or treated with chemical/by boiling to be safe for drinking. Parents are responsible for their children at all times. Walk is graded as 'Difficult' due to uneven ground and steep sections. Helena Campsite is 'new' and very comfortable.  Appropriate gear is required for this walk. Please refer Members' Only resource page of the web site for more guidance. The nighttime temperature may be low. Members may be refused participation if the safety of the group or the participant is compromised by inappropriate equipment. I have a PLB for emergency use, for the safety of the group. Interested members should familiarise themselves with The Risk Management Policy published on the WAFBC website and ensure the safety of your family at all times. We are going into remote environemnt and medical evacuation is usually hours away. Potential risks (which may lead to life-threatening event) on this walk for adults and children are, (1) Snake bite, (2) Thermal burns at fire-pit, (3) Gasto-Intestinal upset from oro-feacal contamination, (4) Musculo-skeletal injuries, (5) Dehydration, (6) Falls, (7) Insect bites, (8) Eye injuries from sticks or plants, and (9) Getting lost in the wilderness.     Assemble Point: Perth Hill Discovery Centre Carpark 15mins before departure time. Mobile coverage is unreliable for much of the Bibbulmum Track, so we will not be waiting long if you are late to the assembly point as there is no way of determining if you are coming or not.  There is no Mobile service at Helena campsite for Optus/Vodafone, weak for Telstra (Unsure about Telstra). PHDC should be a reasonable safe to park your car overnight.  Registration is necessary, this event may be cancelled if there is no registered participants.    Hiking equipment must include these: Suitable attire, sturdy shoes and other personal protection equipment. Water (Minimum 2L per person at departure). Food (Lunch, Dinner, breakfast and snacks) Hiking backpack. Warm sleeping gear  - Sleeping bag and mattress. Tent (The shelter may be busy and space may not be available). Personal Hygiene and toilet paper. Basic First Aid kit. Please keep total pack weight below 10-12kg, including water. Bibbulmun Track OVERLIGHT - Camel Farm to Hewitt's Hill Return 6.5km This is a good introduction to overnight hiking for families wishing to try a short overnight hike with little ones. We will walk toward the shelter in the afternoon and return the next morning. Non-Members are welcome ($15 per person). Approximately 3.5km each way. Parents are responsible for their children at all times. Walk is graded as 'Moderate'. April Camp at Barrabup Santuary (Members Only). Peta is organizing the Easter camp this year at Barrabup Sanctuary, Nannup. This is a private campground next to the river and off the beaten track. This is the real bush experience. There is an undercover area for cooking, basic BBQ and camp fire, but please bring your camp cooking equipment, stove and oven etc. Available are flusing toilet and shower facilities with hot water. There is access to the Blackwood River, and there is a wonderful swimming spot nearby. We are close to Nannup town for resupplies. In previous years, we have a hunt for the Nannup tiger and Easter eggs. There are short hiking tracks nearby and we have organised riddles for the children to solve. What to bring: Tent, Camper, Trailer, Swag. Sleeping equipment. Cooking equipment. Drinking and cooking water. However, I have been told potable water is now available on site. Food for the 4 days. Portagabra Track, Mundaring The Portagabra Track takes walkers though some beautiful jarrah forest, winding its way past granite outcrops and majestic grass trees, with stunning views of the Helena Valley River and Mundaring Weir. The walk features beautiful wildflowers between August and November and is suitable for all skill levels. The trail begins at the red/white trailhead sign in Fred Jacoby Park and then heads underneath the historic Mundaring to Kalgoorlie pipeline and into the forest. Please note dogs are not allowed on the trail as it's in a national park. Distance is 3.5 km, About 1 hour Meet at the start of the walk where you walk under the pipe, at Fred Jacoby Park, Hampel Road, Mundaring, 48 min (40.4 km) via National Highway 94. Please be punctual as we will not wait no more than 15mins. Difficulty - Moderate level of fitness and experience required. 
Bush Walk: Grade 3 - Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may have short steep hill sections a rough surface and many steps. Walks up to 20km. Reptile Presentation Depending on interest, we will invite a herpetologist to educate and entertain our children. Tessa (Tessa's Reptile Service) will bring several snakes, lizards and frogs and teach us all about them. Everyone who wishes to will be able to hold the snakes and lizards. There will be lots of time for interaction. Presentation will be 3-4.30pm, but those who wish to can stay on afterwards for picnic and swim. We will meet on the grassed area south side of the cafe, where the 2 jetties are.
